Did you ever see the eye-catching building nearby the front gate? Anyone who has ever visited KOREATECH, must have seen the big building named Damheon Building. In the Damheon building, there are many big and cool machines which look quite complicated, overwhelming or somehow remind us of the movie “Transformers”. Didn’t you have any curiosity? Let’s find out!
Those big and cool machines belong to the CIGMA Center which performs one of the most creative roles at Korea Tech. The CIGMA Center is an abbreviation of Creative Ideation + ConverGence + customized mAnufacuting. The CIGMA center was established in 2012 in Damheon building( 담헌실학관 ) and occupies the 1 st , 2 nd , 3 rd and 7 th floors.
In the CIGMA Center students can use various machines and facilities. And also the CIGMA Center provides various programs which could be categorized in 3 parts (Manufacturing, Convergence, Creativity). The purpose of the CIGMA Center is helping students to achieve future-oriented creative thinking, interdisciplinary convergence, and field centered customized manufacturing systems.

1. Supporting Undergraduate Studies’ Practical Training
- Setting up exhibition posters of creative engineering design and develop poster idea (1st year students)
- Engineering design(3rd year students), Final project(4th year students)
- Supporting undergraduate studies’ practical training(For all students)
2. 창 · 조페스티벌개최 (Creative Festival)
- Competitive exhibition including 6 fields:Robotics, General(DIY, Marketing), K ·License
- Open for once in a semester
3. Supporting Interdisciplinary(Convergence)/School-work links Kapstone design
- Supporting Kapstone design themed convergence contents performed by different majors
- Connection with final projects
4. Tech-Shop Program
- Providing facilities and machines to realize students’ ideas into final their products
- Supporting technological counseling/education/consultation for manufacturing
- Providing interchange of technology between students and donation of talent networking

5. K-License Program
- Authorizing process of university equipment(HW/SW)
- Running program every month linked with H&C mileage;
Manufacturing and processing, control and instrumentation applications,
process applications and design
6. DIY Program
- Product manufacturing program available for completion in 1 day (3hours)
- Running more than 3 times a semester
7. Creative Imagination Workshop; 창의상상공방 (Product Implementation Room)
- Providing a place for Idea meeting, product design and technique exchange
- Available weekly, monthly and daily depends on application
